IES College believes in fostering a progressive college community where diversity is fully embraced. We encourage our students to learn about the world around them so that they can discover how and who they want to be in the world whilst making a positive contribution to their community.

By taking proven strategies from alternative schools, creating safe spaces for all our students, and aiming for a definition of success that is defined by our students, we offer an educational experience that has diversity at its core.

A Diverse Student and Staff Body

We welcome students and staff from around the world, and work to ensure our working and learning environments are safe spaces where everyone can thrive. A diverse student and staff body makes it easier for everyone to be a valued part of the school community.

Our comprehensive student support services also help students from all backgrounds and with diverse needs to succeed at IES. Some pupils may confront obstacles to learning, such as academic, socio-emotional, physical or environmental difficulties. Our student support services work with students, faculty, and parents to provide practical and beneficial assistance to all students and create safe spaces to address any issues that students may have.

Improving Social Cohesion

IES is a non-profit institution with the explicit mission of re-investing in programmes and initiatives that improve the educational and civic experiences of our students and the communities in which they reside.

We want to set an example for alternative schools, and our mission is to foster more unity in Australia's classrooms, neighbourhoods and workplaces. Together with SBS, we've created innovative Cultural Competence Programmes that are gaining traction in companies across Australia. This work has given us knowledge and experience that permeates the classroom settings at IES, directly benefitting our students.
