CREATIVE INDUSTRIES SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES AT IES COLLEGE

From 2025, IES college will be offering Creative Industry Scholarships to students with creative abilities. All scholarships are awarded for the duration of the entire schooling. Scholarship awards are open to students from Year 10 through to Year 12. This scholarship entitles the holder to the remission of part/all tuition fees.

The school undertakes a rigorous and balanced process in awarding scholarships that takes into consideration a range of criteria including: the students’ portfolio; sound academic attitude and achievement; an exemplary work ethic; participation in co-curricular activities; social awareness; and leadership, service and commitment to making a positive difference.

Applicants should be willing and eager to participate in the wide range of opportunities available at the school and respect the Philosophy, Values, Rules and Policies of the School.

Each application is evaluated on an individual basis and on the applicant’s merits. All applicants will be notified in writing of the outcome of their application. Successful applicants will be determined at the discretion of the school and all decisions on successful scholars are final.

To be eligible for a Creative Scholarship, a candidate must:

  • meet the entry requirements for the College – which can be found here,
  • have attended a school tour (either in person or virtually),
  • have submitted a completed enrolment application, including providing all required supporting documentation (such as recent academic reports),
  • register your interest to apply for a scholarship by completing the required application form, and
  • provided all additional application documentation as outlined in the sections below, according to scholarship category they are applying for: Drama, Visual Arts, or Film/TV.

Drama

The IES College Drama Scholarship is awarded to talented young actors who perform or show potential for performing at a remarkably high level of accomplishment when compared to others of their age and wish to extend themselves through the Performing Arts Industry. Recipients of this scholarship are expected to engage with the arts both at school and outside of school and will be performers of an exceptionally high calibre who are both gifted and dedicated in the arena of acting.

Applicants are required to submit: an expression of interest (300 words), a portfolio that includes: a documented history of their involvement in a specified field of the performing arts; any awards received; and references from current instructors (Students may at their discretion include video footage of their performance in the Arts), school reports*, and year 9 NAPLAN report*.

* If these reports were included with the student’s enrolment application, there is no requirement to provide them again.

Visual Art

The IES College Visual Arts Scholarship is awarded to young artists who show exceptional talent and potential to develop in their artistic expression. Recipients of this scholarship are expected to maintain an extremely high standard of artistic practice and to extend themselves artistically.  

Applicants are required to submit: an expression of interest (300 words), a portfolio of original work demonstrating outstanding abilities in both the practical and theoretical aspects of the Visual Arts, school reports*, and year 9 NAPLAN report*.

* If these reports were included with the student’s enrolment application, there is no requirement to provide them again.

Film, TV and New Media

The IES College Film, TV & New Media Scholarship is awarded to talented young film directors who show potential for media or film making at a remarkably high level of accomplishment when compared to others of their age and wish to extend themselves through the Film and Media Industry. Recipients of this scholarship are expected to engage with the arts both at school and outside of school and will be performers of an exceptionally high calibre who are both gifted and dedicated in the arena of Film, TV & New Media.

Applicants are required to submit: an expression of interest (300 words), a digital portfolio that includes: a documented history of their involvement in a specified field of the performing arts; awards received; and references from current instructors (Students may at their discretion include video footage of their performance in the Arts), school reports*, and year 9 NAPLAN report*.

* If these reports were included with the student’s enrolment application, there is no requirement to provide them again.

The awarding of this scholarship is determined by the College Principal (or delegate) and is based on a students’ ability to meet the requirements outlined above as well as attending an interview with the College Principal.
